My friend and I left Westfield and headed Northbound on Rt 5 through Northampton. We continued until we hit Rt 116 and made a stop at the Ashefield Lake House for lunch. The food, service and price was fantastic. Not to mention the view! The setting is on a lake and it was nice to see life take a pause.........right from our table! We had geese, ducks and little boys boating without a care in the world. The way life should be!!!

After lunch, we headed North to Rt 2 and traveled West. But while at lunch, my friend asked me where I wanted to go and since I couldn't think of any particular place, I let my map book fall and when it opened, it opened to Florida. And that is when my friend decided to let his sense of humour shine through when we stopped in Florida, Massachusetts!! Not exactly what I had in mind but it would have to do.

We stopped many other times along Rt 2 for some absolutely breath taking views.

We then headed south on Rt 7 through the picturesque (sic) city of Pittsfield where traffic was unbareable and quickly made a bee-line out of town!!

We continued south until we hit Rt 23 and proceeeded West back towards home. Throughout this entire trip, all I ever told my friend was I wanted a soft serve ice cream and if we didn't stop before I got home, he'd have a size 9 boot on his backside. It's not a big boot but I kick hard!! And a good friend like Brian is, he made it a point for us to stop in Otis where I laid on a cool, grassy knoll enjoying a chocolate/vanilla twist. Paradise!!

Brian and I were finally making it home and I just had to make one last stop. And being the responsible rider that I am, I don't drink and ride, but I had to have something for when I got home!!
