Worst Potholes Contest
Miss Sturgis 2008
Sasha Mullins is a finalist for Miss Sturgis 2008 and needs your help.

Sasha is one of the newer members to the Cool Bike Rides community. She's agreed to become a regular contribor sharing her riding experiences with us. I've been following Sasha's writing on her website www.bikerlady.com as well as on her myspace (she's been a myspace friend for a while) and have known she's been considered for Miss Sturgis 2008 for a little while. Well, she's a finalist!

I was hoping the Cool Bike Rides community could help her out a bit. I'll let Sasha explain in her own words in a recent message below. Be sure to give her a hand and keep checking back for more of her writings here on Cool Bike Rides.

COUNT DOWN TO MISS STURGIS WINNER!

Hello my friends AND wind brothers and sisters:

The Miss Sturgis Bike Week contest is NOW in its final round and those last three girls will be brought in to make twelve finalists of which I am one.

Out of the twelve, Miss Sturgis will be named on April 19th. This contest has achieved great worldwide attention, thanks to the power of the internet. With that in mind, I think the Miss Sturgis role could greatly benefit the motorcycle community and local Sturgis area community activities in many ways beyond calendar girl.

I entered the contest to represent a real female motorcycle rider who journeys to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on her Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and loves the stark beauty of South Dakota and the beautiful people there.

Again, I’m so grateful for your support. The contest has been terrific fun and I look forward to representing ALL girls who ride motorcycles, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and local South Dakota events there as Miss Sturgis. But there is another process involved to be selected, so I thought I’d share this with you.

I will be traveling to Sturgis in a few weeks for the calendar shoot and to meet with the Sturgis Bike Week Committee for interviews whereby they will determine who gets the Miss Sturgis title. I’ll appear before the Sturgis Bike Week Committee who will interview me, and then I visit the local radio stations for on-air interviews (yeehaw), and then it’s a photo session for the calendar girl photographs.

Since I made it as a finalist, voting for me is now closed, but I encourage comments to be posted on my contestant page:

http://www.misssturgis.com/girls/?p=5 - is my contestant page where you can leave a comment about the rally contest, why I’d be a good choice for Miss Sturgis, your love for riding and passion for the Black Hills, and whatever else you’d like to comment about. There’s nothing like testimony!

In addition, I’ll be sending out bi-monthly Bikerlady Newsletters. Please visit my bikerlady. com website to sign up if you’d like to be on the mailing list. Note that your e-mail address is safe and you won’t be solicited for ANYTHING. It’s only for the newsletter.

Peace & love,
Sasha
