We had a really nice ride down there. Just enough lights so we could chat along the way but not so many that we were sitting forever.

I was a little nervous when Jon seemed unsure of himself in Westside. I wasn't sure he knew where he was going. I gave him a quick re-direct and off we went. Then we hit the rotary by the North End Bridge... We lost each other here as Jon headed down for Memorial Bridge and Chris Evan and I headed over the North End Bridge...
We pulled over once we got across the bridge to see if they were able to reverse direction and follow us. No luck, so we headed on into downtown and figured we would catch up once we got there. Well wouldn't you know it, we waited just about the right amount of time because there they were, turning onto Worthington Street right in front of us.
Being one of the first really nice Thursday evenings of the summer, the crowd was huge. There were tons of bikes and even more people.

We wandered around for a while admiring the bikes and doing a little people watching. Always fun at these events! Evan and I even took a moment to grab a photo with the Haymond Girls...
We bumped into all of the usual suspects, including Travelin' Tim Aloisio fromt he Republican and Ed Avery from Roar Motorcycles. We saw plently of other folks as well.
Covering as many events as we try to cover, we meet a lot of people. Sometimes it's hard to remember everyone's name. I heard my name called this evening and looked up to see a couple I recognized but couldn't immediately place. The wife said "You don't remember who we are do you?" I

immediately said "sure, you're Colleen and Kevin!" Not bad huh? These are two of the folks who helped organize the 747th ride back in the Spring. These are really nice folks and their kindness has truly touched my heart. Heck, I get all mushy every time I watch the video from this event seeing Kevin kiss his grandson just before taking off...
